You’ve purchased all your cleaning furnishes and equipment, told everyone you know that you have started a cleaning business and now you are ready to begin bidding on jobs and getting down to work. So your next step is to meet with potential clients and put together a bid for their cleaning services. But how do you recognise what to charge for cleaning your potential client’s building?

Start off by remembering that you are in business to make a net profit and earn a living. Sometimes the tendency is to price our services low in order to get our foot in the door. Pricing your services too low may mean you will end up working for very little per hour. And more importantly, will have little left over to reinvest in the growth of your company. There are cleaning companies that charge more than others and have all the work they may handle and there are companies that have lower fees yet are engaged in a struggle to find work! Don’t trade yourself short or you will not be capable to earn a living off your cleaning business.

The rates for mercantile cleaning vary widely depending upon the area you live. Hourly rates are anyplace from $15 to $40 per hour depending on the type of services that you provide, whether or not you’re doing the work yourself, and your company’s overhead and expenses. Monthly square footage rates could run anyplace from $.05 to $.20 per square foot depending on the type of building you are cleaning and the frequency of cleaning. You’ll be capable to bid a higher square footage price for medical facilities versus office buildings due to more specialized cleaning needs. You’ll likely bid a lower square footage price for huge buildings versus little buildings. For example, you may bid $.08 per square foot for a 50,000 square foot building versus $.12 per square foot for an 8,000 square foot building.

You will most likely be charging your clients a per month price and you will need to figure that price by estimating how long it will take to carry out the services that your client has requested. The more procreative you or your laborers are, the higher the every hour production rate. If you’re capable to clean 3,500 square feet per hour, your net profit will be higher than if you’re only competent to clean 2,500 square feet per hour, so adjust your price accordingly.

It’s also a good idea to find out what the “going rates” are in your area. A few phone calls to challengers may be necessary to get an idea of the basic charges in your area. Use a script when you call so you may compare apples to apples. So what do you say when you call? Try something like, “Hi, I have a little business office that I would like cleaned once a week. It is 3000 square feet and has two little restrooms. Can you give me a rough estimate of what you what you charge per month?” The person may or may not give you an estimate. Most contractors will insist on walking through the building, but it is worth a few phone calls so you have a ballpark figure on what cleaning companies in the area are charging.

To estimate what you will have to charge for cleaning a building, get started by doing a walk-through with the building proprietor or manager. Keep track of the following:

* Frequency of cleaning (once a week, three times a week, five times a week). If frequency is one or two times per week, it’s best to estimate your time and multiply by your every hour rate. If cleaning 3 or more times per week you may estimate your time by the square foot.

* Overall square feet

* Types of floor surfaces and square footage of each (carpet, vinyl flooring, ceramic tile)

* Types of rooms – standard office, break room, restrooms. Also note the number of toilets/stalls and fixtures in each restroom, as well as the types of restroom furnishes used.

* Any particular considerations – heavy traffic areas, elevators, strange requests, etc.

* Make note of the specific services the client is seeking such as emptying trash, dusting, restroom cleaning, mopping and vacuuming.

The following services are specialized services and you ought to bid them separately, and list a per-service charge on your bid:

* Stripping and Waxing (.25¢ – .50¢ per square foot)

* Buffing/Burnishing (.03¢ – .07¢ per square foot)

* Machine Cleaning of Ceramic Tile floors (.12¢ – .21¢ per square foot)

* Carpet Cleaning (.12¢ – .25¢ per square foot)

* Carpet Spotting ($20 – $40 per hour)

* Cleaning appliances (microwave, refrigerator) – $10 – $35 per appliance

* Window Washing ($1.00 – $5.00 per pane)

Make sure you take sufficient notes so you may put together a realistic price that is reasonable to the client and one in which you will make a profit. After your primary meeting with the client, go back to your office look through your notes and determine what it will cost you to clean the building. You may have to consult a production cleaning rate chart to determine how long it will take you and your staff to clean the building. Once you have an idea of how long it will take to clean the building you may put your cost estimate together:

* Estimate the time it will take by using a production cleaning rate chart or calculator.

* Determine your labor cost for cleaning the building one time.

* Determine your regularly every month labor cost to clean the building.

* Estimate a regularly every month cost for supplies. This will be a reasonably low figure, perchance 1 or 2% of on a monthly basis sales.

* Be sure to add in a earnings margin!

Add up the figures and you will come up with your on a monthly basis cost. If you have access to a bidding calculator you will be competent to put in a series of numbers and come up with a price. A bidding calculator will likewise show what net income you may suppose to make. It is likewise advisable to add a firstborn time cleaning charge. This is commonly an every hour rate of perhaps $20 – $25 an hour. The original time you go through a building it will take longer and you may find the former cleaning service may have left dirt in cracks and crevices that you will have to clean the firstborn time through.

Once you have your price established, put your bid packet together. Your bid packet will have to specify what you are responsible for and what the client is responsible for (buying their own trash may liners, restrooms supplies, etc.). It will have to likewise include the per month charge for cleaning services, how long the agreement is for, and the procedure to cancel the contract if either party is unhappy.

It is essential to learn how to price your cleaning services so your clients know you are providing a professional service at a realistic price and so that you make a profit. After all, if you do not make a earnings you won’t stay in business very long!

Exceeds my expectations
By M. Smith
After years of searching for a floor cleaner that is easy to use and not messy I found the Haans. I got the Deluxe Total Home Cleaning System and I could not be happier. It easy to use, lightweight and does not soak the floor with excess steam like my old steam cleaner. Just a tip-At first I was reluctant about the floor cleaner because when you first use the steam cleaner on tile all the residue from previous floor soaps come up creating a white film. I did not know what to make of that-talk about getting everything out of the tile. It really did. I cleaned the floor with vinegar and warm water to get all the soap off the floor. Thank goodness that only needed to be done once. It was worth it. Since then my floor is amazing. I can walk in my house with socks and they do not get grungy. I also use the floor steamer on my hardwood floors. For years my cherry floors always showed every smudge and foot print. I began over the years to hate my floors. What I found out was it was not my floors, it was the cleaners. Just like the tile the first time you clean the wood it may look dull. What I found is that as I continued to clean the floor with the Haan Steam floor cleaner my floors no longer show all the smudges and foot prints. The little cleaning system is great also. I use it to clean everything from the bathroom, base boards, grit and build up in the corners, stainless steel, windows to the tracks on my sliding glass doors. It is also awesome on flat stove tops. I love it. Not only is it a great product but I have saved so much money not buying cleaners (floor cleaner, wood cleaner, shower cleaner etc… It is a savings of about $28-35 a month. I never thought going green would be easy.

Larson
I debated whether or not I should buy the handheld steamer along with the floor steamer when what I really needed was the floor steamer for general cleaning. WOW – am I glad I decided to buy both! I put the small round brush attachment on the handheld steamer, and began cleaning the grout on my tile floor. Let me just say that I like things neat and clean, but the grout in my floor is disgusting. I tried everything I knew to clean it without much success. The filth that came out of the grout was SO revolting. That said – it was also so satisfying! The one down side is that the handheld does not hold much water, so with 800 square ft. of tile, it is definitely a weekend job. The down side – you have to wait 3-5 mintues and unplug the steamer to refill the water. I used the floor steamer to clean up the dirt/filth left behind from the handheld. I LOVE this floor steamer! No trigger, no having to push down to create steam – just easy to use – plain and simple! Now – if this steamer stands the test of time, I will be thrilled! I previously owned the Shark floor steamer – it only lasted 6 months before it puked. The Haan WAY out-performs the Shark by a mile! LOVE IT!

Hepditch
This is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever bought! I have tile floors that are very textured & difficult to clean. With a regular mop/bucket scenario all of the dirt would flow into the grout & my tiles just looked dirty no matter what. Now, thanks to my Haan, both my tile & the grout in between look as good as the day I moved in! Plus, my hardwood isn’t dull anymore. It’s glossy & looks well taken care of.

The handheld is magic for cleaning my kitchen & bathrooms. I even cleaned my oven with it! So awesome!

There are only a couple of things to be aware of before buying:
1. You absolutely need to sweep or vacuum before mopping. The pads won’t pick up crumbs, hair, etc at all. It’s just a mop, after all.
2. The handheld can get a bit unwieldy at times, like in the bathroom when you’re trying to clean the upper tiles around your tub/shower. There is an attachment so you can reach higher, but the handheld itself can be heavy when you’re trying to lift it over your head.

Otherwise, I haven’t had a problem.

Basement floor covering is one of the last things you think with regards to when finishing a basement. People tend to focus more on the structural designs original (for good reasons!) and then when the project is wrapping up, the items such as basement floor covering, paint and finishing touches are handled. That is normal and fine of course. The structural issues in a basement are a huge deal obviously. However, when it comes to picking a floor covering for basements, your decision may be a wise or highpriced one. Moisture and mildew may destruct most floor coverings. Even worse, a flooded basement may fetch a lot of headaches. If you use the right basement floor covering up front you may stay clear from a great deal of issues and even save cash on your budget with the right deal. Commercial carpet squares and tiles have a lot of vantages that make them a perfective choice for basement floor covering. There are 5 reasons why mercantile carpet tile works great for basement flooring.

1. Most mercantile carpet tiles have a hard, rubber like backing. This backing along with the yarn is not harmed by moisture, mold or mildew. In fact, most carpet tile backing systems have mold and mildew inhibitors built into the backing itself. This built in resistance to moisture, mold and mildew make mercantile carpet tiles perfective for basement floor covering. Also, if your basement floods, the carpet tiles may be pulled up and put outside to dry. Once the mercantile carpet squares are arid and the basement is dry, you may reinstall the tiles. One tip is to make sure you use the mercantile carpet tiles with the hard, stiff backing. Some carpeting tiles come with an integral cushion padding. When installing in a basement, this cushion backing may absorb moisture and is not a good option.

2. Commercial carpet tiles are very easy to install. You may use adhesive to glue them down, notwithstanding the loose lay method is best in a basement. You commonly may install the tiles tight sufficient to where an adhesive is not needed. If you don’t have to glue them down, pulling them up later if the basements floods will be much easier. This also makes tile substitute later very easy. In fact, if you don’t glue the mercantile carpet squares and tiles down, you may pull them up and pressure wash them off if they ever become very soiled or stained.

3. Basement floor covering may see a lot of foot traffic if the garage is adjacent to the finished area. Commercial carpet squares are built to handle heavy traffic. These are the same mercantile carpet squares that are installed in airports, hotels, restaurants, etc.

4. Commercial grade carpet tiles may be applied to give rise to distinctive looks on a room or area. Basement floor covering doesn’t have to be bland to be functional. A very frequent option when using mercantile carpet tiles is to use 2 or 3 colors to make checkerboard or contemporary designs. Not only does the use of various colors (contrasting colors do great) give the basement a architect look, but it hides the seams where the carpet tiles come together.

5. Carpeted, mercantile grade tiles may be a very cheap basement floor covering if you hunt the deals down. Normally, carpet squares and tiles may be expensive, but you may find a great deal of wholesalers that trade carpet squares for $.89 per square foot or less. If you have a 10 ft by 200 ft finished area, that’s only $89 for the entire basement floor covering. By doing the installation yourself, you will save further and added cash over other flooring choices as well.

When carpeting is installed in a home, it is stretched over your floor onto tack strips which secure it on the sides. Over time with frequent use and age your carpet will in truth stretch out. This will oftentimes show itself as wrinkles and loose spots in your carpeting. So how do you repair these wrinkles, is there a way?

Yes, to get rid of these unsightly wrinkles, you need to have your rugs in a professional manner stretched. If your carpet is less than a few years old, you might genuinely have a labor warranty that will cover the stretching costs. Before you hire anyone, check to see if your carpet is still beneath this warranty. If not, you will have to remunerate for the charges out of pocket. Unfortunately stretching is not cheap because it involves rather a bit of work. The technicians will have to move all or most of your furniture out of a room, detach the carpet from the tack strip, cut off the excess carpet and then reattach it to the tack strips. This may take hours. Expect to compensate around $3 to $4 per square yard for this service. That makes 900 square feet of carpet cost around $300 to $400 to stretch. Sound expensive? Well it is but it is better than the alternative.

If you do not have your carpeting stretched the problem will only get worse. The carpet will proceed to get looser and the wrinkles will get more spectacular and more noticeable. This not only causes the carpet to look bad but it may likewise shorten the life of your carpeting. Loose rugs wears more quickly than in the right manner installed and stretched carpet. As pricey as carpet is today it makes since to get the problem taken care of soon as possible to prevent pricey alternate costs.

If you are not sure what to do, it doesn’t injure to call a carpet repair service. Most will be happy to give you a free estimate and may give you recommendations as to how you must proceed. Who knows, you may only need one room stretched rather of your whole house. You do not know until you call.

There are thousands of state and federally furnished treatment beds available throughout the nation, and most people in real financial distress will qualify for at least a good deal of degree of subsidized care. Some of the facilities offer very comprehensive services, access to great medical care and a very high standard of treatment.

Most programs are designed for humans living in poverty, and are not well set up to meet the needs of the significant numbers of humans who do not live in poverty, but at the same time do not have good private health insurance and cannot afford to self finance a very highpriced amount of time of residence at a private rehab.

Additionally, due to outstanding demand and fixed availability, almost all state furnished treatment beds will maintain a long waiting list. When an individual decides to get aid for an addiction, therapists give hope or courage to that person to get help immediately, before they change their mind, or circumstances change. A long wait time is far from ideal, and derails the transient good intents of far too a heap of persons suffering through addictions.

Still, because a heap of of these facilities do offer quality care, and because this care may be accessed either free of charge or at very low cost, as a good firstborn step you will have to call your state health services agency to find out your options. It may not work out, but if a couple of hours of assessment and phone calls gets you into free treatment in a timely manner, your time will have been well spent.

What you need to do?

Call the phone number for your state social services office. These offices are for addictions support so they are ready to help you in finding care. You will want to ask:

Are subsidized services offered for persons with your income?

Where precisely you need to go?

What times each day are assessments done?

What documents you will need to bring?

Do you need to be sober for the assessment?

How long is the waiting list for residential care?

It may not work, you may not be eligible, and the waiting list for service may be unreasonably long; but before you compensate for care you cannot afford, or before you give up in feeling of annoyance at being hindered or criticized on the whole exercise, you must take a few hours to find out whether or not the state may help.

If it works, it’s the best available option.

Remember, you may get better, humans do everyday, and you’ll never regret anything you do that gets you there.

I think it is worth more than what I paid for it. Very good value!

As I browsed a popular chain-store not long ago, I noticed that area rugs have made a dramatic shift in composition equated to a few short years ago. Since my livelihood is based on having an intimate noesis of the flooring productions that I suggest to my clients, I always read labels… in particular on deals that seem to good to be true. And as I browsed through the supplying of area rugs in the chain-store, I noticed that almost all the rugs were made of polypropylene or it’s very close cousin, olefin. I am a firm believer in buyers being well informed and getting a good value for their money. So I seek here to give a reasonable comparison of this fiber versus what is distinctly a better fiber for your interior home decor needs.

Let me begin out with the good calibers of polypropylene and olefin. This fiber is a reasonably strong man-made fiber that is well suitable to mats and runners that may be employed at entrances or patios or even outdoors, if decently treated for UV protection. In the past you would almost always find this type of fiber in a low profile, very tight loop style rug, and that is what it is best suitable for. Many light to medium obligation mercantile carpets are made of this fiber (always in loop form). This fiber is normally extruded to the color that it will be (not dyed after extrusion), so it have a tendancy to hold it’s color well and may be used in intricate designs. This fiber is also immune to most types of stains, and cleans up well (in tight loop form). Many manufacturers of area rugs choose this fiber because it is for less than other fibers and they may pass the savings on to the consumer.

Now let me point out the not so good calibers of this fiber. This fiber is a man-made synthetic fiber that is petroleum based (not very “green” or environmentally friendly. Although it is a good indoor-outdoor type of fiber in tight looped form, it is basically useless in any other form. In a cut-pile or plush rug it has a bad reputation of matting and crushing very quickly, so even though the fiber is not wearing out, it begins to look very ugly gorgeous fast. Although it holds color well and resists a great deal of types of stains, it have a tendancy to hang on to stains that are oily or greasy (even the body oils from the bottom of your feet and your pet’s feet). In other words, it does not clean that well in a cut pile or plush style. So basically, if fictitious in anything other than tightly looped form, you end up with a brightly colored, greasy, oily, matted and crushed rug that looks like it has been there for years rather of months. Lastly, since it is the most inexpensive fiber that manufacturers use, it is not the greatest value. I have likewise noticed a shift in the major brand name rug and carpet manufacturers, they are likewise using polypropylene and olefin in their latest generation of area rugs, so just because it may have a good brand name it does not mean you will get a good quality area rug. If you want a cheap, disposable mat or runner that will end up in a landfill sooner than later, then this is the rug to buy. If you are going to buy a synthetic fiber area rug, at least make sure it is nylon or man-made silk. It will wear better and last longer.

If you need a Fine Quality Area Rug for interior design or home decor, the sheer best fibers are silk and wool. Silk costs more and requires professional maintenance, so that leaves us with wool. Wool is a natural fiber that has better resistance to matting, crushing, fading and is a natural for built in stain shelter (you may spray a fine mist of stain-protector straight from the may for even dandier protection). It does not soil as without apparent effort as other fibers, and will not mat and crush for many, a lot of years. Some wool rugs are even passed down from one generation to another; if well maintained. Wool area rugs are not that much more cash than a nylon rug (as a machine made product. Hand-made will cost you more). Value per dollar is principally increased by choosing a timeless pattern with wool fiber.

We just bought some new area rugs, and found them slip-sliding all over the hardwood floors whenever the dog would get the idea to pounce at a ball/stuffed animal/owner. After looking at a few options at the store for $50 or more, I figured to give this item a shot – and it works great! It took two people to get it set down right where we wanted it, and two people to put the rug gently on top, but now that it’s there, it’s not moving anywhere, no matter what the silly dog does.

Overall, a great value, and performs just as well as the $50+ versions at the store. If you want your rug to stay put, buy it.

Fresh fruits are always so good to eat, but may be hard to get out of your clothes! Fruit stains may be dissimilar colors and even dissimilar types of stains to remove. Below are the steps on how to remove fresh fruit from your clothing.

The original step to remove any stain is to commence by removing any excess feed that is leaving the stain on the costume item. You don’t want to rub the stain in even more when you’re attempting to get rid of it! Rinse the stained area with cold water. Next, rub a heap of liquid detergent into it gently so the stain does not spread. After rubbing liquid detergent into the stain, let it sit for in regards to five minutes.

Next, rinse hot water through the back of the stain. Tip: Make the water as hot as you may so it will strength it back through the article of clothing. Then, utilize a stain remover stick, gel, or spray to help soak up the stain even more. If the stain happens to remain, you may follow the above steps again until the stain is totally removed. Another way to get rid of the stain if it did not come out is to sprinkle salt on the area with the stain. Salt will support absorb it so it will not be so bad before you treat it again. Lastly, wash the costume in the washing machine, and then the stain will have to be altogether removed.

Hemp rugs may be a conception you may work into your decor, if you may find a resource for them. Hemp carpeting and area rugs are a flooring you just don’t see in the U.S. much — yet.

Since 1970, the Controlled Substances Act has left no differentiation among industrial hemp and the marijuana plant which may be the reason why aid isn’t being applied as much as it could be in the U.S. But vantages of hemp are numerous:

 renewable resource

needs no insecticides or fertilizers

 each portion of the plant may be used

 grows 150 times more immediate than trees with four times the yield

But there are likewise disadvantages:

 the stigma makes it hard to find hemp products

 the texture may be scratchy

Hemp use dates back ten thousand years, along with the production of pottery in ancient times. A piece of hemp fabric was found to be the oldest humane artifact and dated at 8000 BC. In colonial times of the United States, residents were required to grow hemp. However, since the CSA, hemp production is principally scaled down and confined to littler manufacturers.

Hemp rugs are beneficial because they may be made without harming or reducing the earth’s resources. They may be woven by hand or on a loom without need for fuels or heavy machinery. Hemp may grow closely anyplace without aid from insecticides or fertilizers. This fact helps maintain the natural environs and keeps the water supply pure as well.

And while hemp rugs are byproducts of hemp, you may make cosmetics and costume from the plant as well. By using the entire hemp plant, you are capable to get more from each fast growing plant.

As unreal as it sounds, hemp grows much quicker than trees with more yield. You may use the comparison that if a tree produced a ream of paper, then a hemp plant would give rise to four of them. That’s a great resource! Not only may it be applied for more than one purpose, but it also makes a lot of what it needs to make.

Of course, there is a societal stigma of hemp and it’s relation to marijuana, nevertheless they are dissimilar plants. Hemp fiber is received from a tall, canelike potpourri of the Cannabis family, while marijuana is received from the female plant of a littler variety. They are relatives of each other, but you may not light up hemp as you would marijuana. Still, a great deal of people are skeptical regarding buying something that’s illegal.

As for the texture, though it may be woven into a assortment of patterns, shapes and sizes, most hemp area rugs are rather scratchy to the touch. It is not commended that you use them in a place that people might sit or lie down. And children may not like them in a playroom because of this fact.

Hemp area rugs are a outstanding way to cover and protect your floors without harming the environment. In time, you might see that they become as standard as they could be because of all that they do and all that they don’t do.
